The Azalea Regional Library System is thrilled to announce that the Morgan County Library is featured on the cover of the Summer 2025 issue of "Library News," the official magazine of the Georgia Public Library Service.
The quarterly publication shares stories of how Georgia's public libraries are transforming the lives of their patrons. The latest edition explores how library technology enables historical preservation, details the travels of the Georgia Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, explains how libraries are vital hubs for digital literacy, and more.
We've had an incredible summer for early literacy outreach! In July, the Azalea Regional Library System delivered 200 Books for Babies bags to local health departments and the Piedmont Walton labor and delivery department across our entire six-county service area.
These special bags provide new parents, guardians, grandparents, and caregivers with a soft baby book and valuable information on the library's resources and programs. We're proud to support critical early literacy initiatives like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and the PINES PLAY card, which are designed to foster a love for reading from a young age.
The PINES student PLAY card gives the following students a special library card using their designated student ID/number with no late fees. These PLAY cards are funded by a generous grant from Georgia Public Library Service.
