The Pretender by Jo Harkin.

In 1480, John Collan's simple village life is shattered by a stranger's revelation: he's not John, but the hidden son of the Duke of Clarence, spirited away to escape Richard III. Whisked from his humble origins, John is educated for the throne he never knew was his.

He learns courtly intrigue in Burgundy and Ireland, where he meets Joan, a fiercely intelligent and manipulative woman. Joan faces a choice between marriage or the nunnery, while John's path leads to kingship or death. Forming a formidable alliance, they embark on a perilous journey that could irrevocably alter the English monarchy.

In the Library
In July, Abby, Eatonton Putnam County Library Manager, delivered Books for Babies bags to the Putnam County Health Department. These bags provide new parents, guardians, grandparents, and caregivers with a soft baby book and valuable information on library resources and programs. We're excited to support initiatives like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and the PINES PLAY card, all aimed at fostering a love for reading and promoting literacy throughout our entire community. She even visited the Little Free Library in the lobby! 🧡
This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Georgia Public Library Service.
