Kitty's life is really hard. Like really, REALLY hard. All she asks for is twenty-two hours a day to sleep and food to be delivered morning and night. But does she get it? No. And when Puppy and Baby get a little rambunctious during her naptime, Kitty gets bonked on the head and starts to believe she's...a dog.
In 1866 San Francisco, Emilia del Valle is born to an Irish nun and a Chilean aristocrat. Raised by a loving stepfather, Emilia defies societal norms to pursue her passion for writing, publishing pulp fiction under a male pseudonym at seventeen. Seeking greater adventure, she becomes a journalist at The Daily Examiner, partnered with Eric Whelan. Her restlessness leads her to cover a civil war in Chile, where she confronts her estranged father and her heritage. As Emilia and Eric fall in love, the war intensifies, putting Emilia in grave danger, forcing her to question her identity and destiny.
Based on an 1895 disaster that went down in history when it was captured in a series of surreal, extraordinary photographs, The Paris Express is a propulsive novel set on a train packed with a fascinating cast of characters who hail from as close as Brittany and as far as Russia, Ireland, Algeria, Pennsylvania, and Cambodia. Members of parliament hurry back to Paris to vote; a medical student suspects a girl may be dying; a secretary tries to convince her boss of the potential of moving pictures; two of the train's crew build a life away from their wives; a young anarchist makes a terrifying plan, and much more.

The Library Pass is good for four (4) admissions to the museum. The Pass is for general admission only and is not valid for special events or exhibits. The pass has a circulation period of seven (7) days. The pass may be renewed once. Holds are not allowed.
This initiative raises awareness for radon safety across the state. The program promotes public health by providing electronic radon monitors for checkout at all Georgia public libraries.
Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer behind smoking and is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. It occurs naturally when uranium breaks down to form radon. Uranium is often found in high concentrations in granite rocky soils, as are common in northern Georgia counties. As radon is released into the soil, it can enter buildings through the foundation and well water, eventually building to dangerous levels.
By checking out a monitor with their library card, patrons can easily evaluate the radon levels in their living spaces, and determine if they are in danger. Radon can affect any home, regardless of construction or age. If found, radon can be fixed by installing a radon mitigation system.
Each radon kit comes with directions for use. Radon testing within a home takes two weeks. The kit has a circulation period of fourteen (14) days with two (2) renewals.
The PINES student PLAY card gives all Putnam County students a special library card using their Infinite Campus number with no late fees. These PLAY cards are funded by a generous grant from Georgia Public Library Service. Find out more here!
