PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Library work can be physically demanding. Volunteer positions often require extensive standing, walking, carrying, bending, stretching, as well as repetitive hand movements and lifting objects/pushing carts of differing weights. Please carefully evaluate these physical requirements prior to submitting an application to make sure you can perform the tasks safely.

The donation of time is always welcomed and volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year at most member libraries. Please contact your local library to inquire about volunteer opportunities.

You may also submit an application to be placed on file by completing this Volunteer Application and emailing it to: Nancy Condon at ncondon@azalealibraries.org or mailing it to: Azalea Regional Library System, Attn: Nancy Condon, 1121 East Ave, Madison, GA. 30650. A background check is required of volunteers who desire to work with children or young adults.

Although we recognize the value of community service associated with school projects or civic organizations, AZRLS does not typically offer those types of volunteer assignments.
A volunteer is someone who performs tasks or services of their own free will, without expectation or receipt of wages, benefits, or compensation of any kind. This is not an employment relationship and volunteers are not eligible to receive any compensation or employment benefits while in volunteer service.

Volunteer opportunities may be available at various times in different member libraries. Because some libraries are open seven (7) days a week, we are particularly interested in volunteers with flexible schedules. When reviewing applications, we will take into consideration each applicant’s availability in comparison with our operational needs.

AZRLS does not offer court-ordered community service hours.
