When Marie and her brother Fritz receive a special Christmas nutcracker from their uncle, Marie immediately feels something magical. Jan Brett makes this classic her own by setting it in snowy Russia and adding whimsical touches to the favorite elements of the traditional ballet. Enjoying this book will be an instant Christmas tradition for families who love the ballet and those new to the story

The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah.

Lenora Allbright is 13 when her father convinces her mother, Cora, to forgo their inauspicious existence in Seattle and move to Kaneq, AK. It's 1974, and the former Vietnam POW sees a better future away from the noise and nightmares that plague him. Having been left a homestead by a buddy who died in the war, Ernt is secure in his beliefs, but never was a family less prepared for the reality of Alaska, the long, cold winters and isolation. The Allbrights are as green as greenhorns can be, and even first love must endure unimaginable hardship and tragedy as the wilderness tries to claim more victims.

In the Library
Have you visited the Alice Walker Mini Museum at the Eatonton-Putnam County Library?

Opened in 2023, this special space is dedicated to celebrating Eatonton's own Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Alice Walker. This museum, established with the support of grants from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Georgia Public Library Service, houses a diverse collection of signed literary works, photographs, artifacts, and artistic creations. Noteworthy contributions were made by local friends of Alice Walker, while select items were graciously loaned from the Georgia Writers Museum in Eatonton. Whether you're a devoted fan of Alice Walker or just looking for a cozy, inspiring corner to relax and read, we encourage you to stop by and see this beautiful addition for yourself. It truly is a wonderful spot for reading and finding inspiration.
We were was thrilled to host the Fox Theatre's "Fox in a Box" interactive exhibit from September 22nd through October 27th!

Patrons had the opportunity to dive into the rich history of the iconic Fox Theatre and discover how it connects with major moments in American history. The exhibit revealed the theater's unique role in the Civil Rights Movement and highlighted the importance of community connections.

"Fox in a Box" offered a fascinating look at the past, and we were so pleased to bring this engaging and educational experience to the Eatonton-Putnam County community.
