| | | Make it meatless: 100 "meaty" recipes that taste just like the real thing / Shreya Walia.
Recreate your favorite meaty meals with over 100 comforting plant-based recipes--featuring remarkably realistic meat substitutes. On TikTok, Shreya Walia's "Make it Meatless" series has garnered over 70 million views. In this original series, she shows viewers how to create hyper-realistic versions of popular meat-based dishes using plant-based ingredients, and they are--quite literally--"eating it up!" Though these videos target plant-based eaters, even meat enthusiasts have admitted their eagerness to try Shreya's creations. Shreya uses new techniques and unique ingredients such as lion's mane, banana blossom, and king oyster mushrooms (no processed meat substitutes here!) to recreate not only the appearance but also the texture of fish, chicken, pork, and beef. In Make it Meatless, Shreya will teach you how to do the same. Turn mushrooms into Nashville Hot Chicken Tenders, tofu into Buffalo Burgers, hearts of palm into Fish Tacos, and more. You won't miss the meat! |

| | | Did you know that over 90% of the southeast's exposed granite is concentrated in Georgia, which can lead to naturally occurring radon gas? Radon exposure is a serious health concern, and this invisible gas can affect homes of any age. In a strategic collaboration between UGA Extension and Georgia Public Library Service, the Electronic Radon Monitor Loan Program has been launched to enhance public health. Patrons can now visit any Azalea Regional Library System member library to check out specialized electronic radon monitors. These devices allow you to safely and easily detect radon presence within your residence. Contact your local member library today to check out a kit and learn more! |

| | A Glimpse into the Past: The Carnegie Room at Eatonton-Putnam
While all of our locations in the Azalea Regional Library System offer modern resources, the Eatonton-Putnam County Library holds a truly special piece of history right within its walls: the magnificent, original Carnegie Room.
Built in 1916, this room serves as a beautiful testament to early 20th-century library architecture. It is a dedicated space for our youngest patrons, ensuring that children can start their lifelong love of reading surrounded by history and charm.
The room has been meticulously preserved and boasts: Beyond the Carnegie Room, the Eatonton-Putnam County Library also proudly houses a Alice Walker mini Museum (pictured below), celebrating the local literary legacy of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author.
We encourage you to visit the Eatonton-Putnam County Library to explore this charming and historic space for yourself! |
