Meet the deadliest flowering plants on Earth. Whose toxin is the most potent? Is it the beautiful belladonna? The eye-catching angel's trumpet? The infamous wolfsbane? Or someone else? The host of this stiff competition, Dr. Eleanor Spicer Rice, teaches the rules for poisonous plant interactions (Do not eat! Do not pick!) and introduces the contestants. This tale of blooms and doom invites readers into the world of deadly flowering plants: where they grow, how they're used--and what could happen if you ever come into contact with one. It also encourages readers to appreciate them, showing why they're important to the places they live--and why we should protect them. With humor, accessible science, and a colorful graphic format by best-selling artist Max Temescu, The Deadliest: Flower shows that even the deadliest things in nature may not be as scary as we think.
After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it's too late?

Support for this program is provided through Food and Nutrition Service grant funds administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS).
The kiosks are self-service and will be most useful to clients who are renewing their benefits, checking their status, or filing routine changes. Library staff are not trained to answer questions about benefits eligibility or handle sensitive data. DHS clients requiring guidance should be directed to their nearest DHS office via the informational palm card located on the kiosk, at dfcs.ga.gov/locations, or by calling DHS customer service at (877) 423-4746.
